BIOS ATELIER is an international design cooperative based in Brussels, with a focus on public-space design. The practice brings together complementary expertise in architecture and landscape architecture, tackling simultaneously spatial, ecological and social dimensions. BIOS works primarily in complex urban contexts, with particular attention to the relationships between open spaces, public buildings, ecological networks and collective uses. The practice is internationally active: it develops projects in Belgium, France, Switzerland, Germany and Italy, and is currently involved in several public-space regeneration projects in Brussels. These include the redevelopment of Émile Féron and Joseph Claes streets in Saint-Gilles; the creation of the open spaces surrounding a new public facility in Neder-Over-Heembeek; and the transformation of the public spaces in Ganshoren’s Villas neighbourhood.
