Artist Legacy

René Julien (1937–2016) was a Belgian sculptor, painter, and jeweller, whose lyrical and figurative works capture movement, sensuality, and poetic realism. Trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège, he created a remarkable body of public and private works, including monumental sculptures such as L’Envol de la Wallonie in Liège and Les Égéries in Brussels.

Today, his artistic legacy continues to thrive through various exhibitions across Europe. Within La Lustrerie, a permanent space is dedicated to him, ensuring that René Julien’s vision and creativity remain a source of inspiration for new generations.
